Why did you grow your beard so long, while you were waiting for a diagnosis?<\/strong><\/p>\n

Neil’s Answer:<\/p>\n

The beard story, it goes a bit like this. I actually started growing my beard in October 2015. A few months prior I grew it out a bit, about 8 weeks worth, and then shaved. I quite enjoyed having facial hair and I have never grown a full beard before, so I figured I should give a full beard a go. I didn’t really have an end date in mind. I thought I’d just let it grow and see where it ends up. \ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n

During January I had made some goals for the the end of 2016, which included leaving my job at the time. So I started telling everyone that I wasn’t going to cut my hair or beard, until I left my job at the grocery store. \ud83d\ude42 That way I would have at least a Yeard (Year long Beard), which would have been October 2016.<\/p>\n

The chemo unfortunately had other ideas by making my hair fall out left right and center, including the beard. It only really thinned but I wasn’t going to put up with cleaning up hair constantly for days or weeks or however long, so it all came off.<\/p>\n

So the diagnosis didn’t really change anything, the treatment, did. \ud83d\ude42 After chemo is all done and dusted, I will be growing another one. \ud83d\ude42 I hope this sheds some light on your question. \ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n
