For today I thought I might complete my writing challenge day 5, but the energy just ain’t gonna get that done today. So instead I’ll just take a little from the challenge and talk about that instead.

I want to talk about excitement. What makes me want to get up in the morning, or the middle of the night, or any time of the day for that matter. I remember when I was much younger, and our family was getting ready to go on a camping trip, or a holiday. No matter what time of the night we had to get up to get ready for said trip, as soon as I woke up, I was exited. Excited about what the day ahead would hold, whether it be a long trip to the coast, or a cold trip to somewhere I’ve never seen before. That exciting feeling is how I want to live every day. Not only do I want this feeling for myself, I want my children and family and friends, to experience the same.

So while I do battle with cancer, I also will be figuring out little by little how to make this excitement a reality again. For me the starting point is investing in myself, reading, learning etc. Some things that excite me, helping people, teaching people, learning new stuff especially science stuff. Drop me a comment and let me know what excites you. I’m sure we all have something.

Stay true to yourself, and Awesome.

Excitedly, T Neil van Rooyen
