Seen as there isn’t really any updates, I’ll do more questions. There are plenty of those thanks to you guys. 🙂

Raj also wants to know:

How do/did you choose the people that you have or want in your life?

Is there a running theme?

Very good question Raj, in the past I never really gave this any thought. But I have since learned that you are very much like the people that surround you. In fact if you look at the five people that you spend most of your time with, you will find that you are very much like them. You may find that you have similar interests, talk about similar subjects, and even earn similar incomes. Now I’m sure there are exceptions but in general this seems to be true. Have a look around and see for yourself.

Not counting family as you can’t choose them, then you have to ask yourself. Who do I want to spend my time with? When choosing a new person to be in your life, ask yourself, is this person going to help me move to where I want to be, or is this person going to hold me back. This is not easy, because sometimes a person may be really fun to be with but possibly to your detriment.

Now there is no reason to be rude to anyone, I think if you move off in a different direction in your life, some people will follow you, some people will not. You meet new people and others you stop seeing. I’ve seen this many times. So when you do move your life in a new direction, the new people you choose to spend time with will make all the difference. If you choose people that are successful in said new direction you have a really good chance of also making a success of it. Specially if the people you surround yourself has already achieved what you want to do. And I bet they will be more than willing to help you.

That is what I look at when choosing people that I spend my time with. Very good question, and I hope that my answer helps someone. Feel free to ask me in person if you have any similar questions, I’d love to help if I can. Or ask on the blog. 🙂

Stay Awesome.

Positively, T Neil van Rooyen.
