A slight change of scenery today. Which is good, now I got some interesting updates for you. Today is chemo day, or so I thought. We turned up for chemo and I did all the usual stuff, found me a chair, weighed myself (still not loosing weight so that’s good), filled in my forms. When the nurse came around to take my blood pressure and temperature, she told me I had a fever. I’m like:”Whaaaat!?!?” I even insisted that it was cause I was wearing a beanie, but it was still above thirty eight, ten minutes later. 🙂 I didn’t feel like I had a fever, and I usually can tell. I have been feeling a bit tired though.
From my bloodtest from the day before it seems that my white blood cell count is to low for their liking, plus fever, equals, no chemo. So more blood tests and now the waiting starts. The doctor came to check me out and I got given some intravenous antibiotics. He then told me that he wants me to stay at the hospital overnight so they can keep a close eye on me and also I have to keep getting the antibiotics every eight hours. So here I am writing my blog from the hospital.
My temperature has come down ages ago, even before coming to the hospital. My white blood cell count is also already up a bit, to what it has been for the last few months. I have to stay in hospital though till they are sure that what caused the fever is under control. I think I might be out tomorrow (Wednesday) but might be here for a few days. Time will tell. In the meantime I’ll just hang out here, eat their food and have pretty nurses attend to my every need. 🙂
Come back to find out how the rest of the week pans out. You never know what will happen. 🙂
Stay Awesome.
Positively, T Neil van Rooyen.
LOL you are so funny! And tonight’s blog is just what I needed to make me laugh! Thank you for ALWAYS staying positive, no matter what the situation! You are such an example to me, you remind me so much of my Mommy, who was also always positive! I strive to be like that too!
Have a good night’s sleep and we’ll chat tomorrow again, love you! xx
Glad you are doing better, hope they spoil you a bit at the hospital, get better soon, love you heaps.
Maybe that niggling cough is what caused the infection and your temperature to spike so now the medicine hopefully has kicked it out of your system. I still have coughing spasms that are so annoying. Hope you feel better soon and as you said you will enjoy your hospital stay, eat their food and be attended to by the pretty nurses. Stay positive, look after yourself and get better soon. Love you lots xoxo
