Yesterday (Tuesday) was my fourth chemo treatment, it went well as usual. I did manage to speak to the doctor there and ask him about the pain and swelling up of some of the veins in my hands and aching arms. He said that he doesn’t think it should be of concern as far as being damaged goes. It will heal, he offered me several options, which included ones I mentioned here before (the pic-line and the port), I still don’t want either of those, I’d rather put up with the discomfort. You can read more about my thoughts on that in a previous post here. So we decided to give me more Ibuprofen, after he made sure that I wasn’t abusing them and using to much. Ibuprofen helps with pain as well as inflammation. How ever today, (Wednesday) my arms have been really good and not hurting much at all, even the one that flared up yesterday seems mostly better so, sweet. 🙂 Thanks for all your positive thoughts coming my way, they obviously are helping. He also suggested that I could use an anti-inflammatory cream to rub on. We’ll see how we go.

Energy levels today have been really good, so I’m hoping for more of the same for the rest of the week. Even better the rest of the fortnight. 🙂

Next Tuesday I go for my second pet-ct scan, so that we can tell if the chemo has been doing what it’s supposed to do. If it’s not we change the chemo to a more aggressive version, but I am pretty sure it’s doing exactly what it should be. In which case we continue as we are for another four months, eight more treatments. So at this point we are one third of the way through. 🙂

That’s all I have to report for this update. Stay tuned to hear more of my journey, and also the answers to more of your questions coming real soon. 🙂

Please keep the positive thoughts and comments coming my way, they are a tremendous help.

Stay Awesome.

Positively, T Neil van Rooyen.
