What would you be happy and excited to help others with even if you didn’t get paid? This is a question that I have been asking myself for quite some time. There are so many things that I like doing, that make me exited, and that I would do even if I didn’t get paid. In fact I think because I have so many options I have trouble choosing one and making a start. Hence nothing gets started.
I started this blog less than a week ago and already it has helped me immensely in starting to see where my strengths are and what people appreciate about me. I thank every body who has commented so far, you have no idea how much you are helping me find my path. That is exactly the reason I started this blog, as well as keeping everyone updated.
To answer the question of the the title of this post. Over the past week or so, as I am going through this challenge of taking on cancer, some people have been thanking me for being strong, having a positive attitude, having a good outlook towards life even in hard times. In writing this post I’v been thinking, what do I say to these comments. To be honest I haven’t given it much thought till now. I think in general I don’t put to much emphases on them, but they are the exact things that make me feel alive and get me exited, the things that make life awesome.
Other things that people thank me for. I love helping when ever I can, sometimes it is helping to get a car going when someone left their lights on. I was the go-to guy at work when it came to jump starting a car. That was really funny seen as my car is little and it’s battery is tiny, but most of the time it got the job done. And I’d get a very appreciative thank you. Other times I’d buy someone groceries that had the need, and I always do these things without expecting anything back. That is key I think, helping because you can and want to, not hoping for something in return for it.
These are some things that people thank me for, how about you guys. Leave some comments on what people thank you for and how that makes you feel. 🙂

What a good question! I’m finding it really hard to think of specifics that I get thanked for. I know I always get thanked for the crochet work I hand out as gifts. Also for doing stuff for my children or grandchildren. My husband always thanks me for any meal I have prepared or baking I have done. Look forward to reading what other people get thanked for!
I have been thinking about this since reading it and it made me realize that I really want to do more for others. Sometimes it is just a smile that someone needs and it costs nothing but means so much.
Thank you Boet for being the man you are!

Love this Neil. Thank you. Made me smile and hearing about the things you do for others reminded me that kindness makes the heart so warm.
I had this topic for my day 3 too but I’m still struggling with it so will let you know when I manage to write it!
So far, I have hugs. People always thank me for my hugs!
Love the quote too. Hugs coming your way 🙂
You welcome, I love hugs even better than smiles. Can’t wait to read your post. Keep it up. 🙂
